TPSS aims to support the underprivileged members of the Poosala community by creating awareness and fostering empowerment regarding educational, employment, health, social, and political initiatives from government and other organizations. Their goal is to instill confidence and a sense of belonging in the community.

The organization was established by Sri Podila Ajeya Babu and Sri Sheni Venkatesham.

TPSS's financial resources primarily come from: • Membership Fees: An admission fee of Rs. 5,000/- and a monthly contribution of Rs. 500/- from its 36 members. • Donors: Benevolent individuals who provide voluntary contributions in cash or kind. • Chits/Pooled Funds: Monthly chits of Rs. 10,000/-, Rs. 5,000/-, and Rs. 25,000/- involving 20-25 compassionate members.

TPSS emphasizes that every rupee is utilized with transparency, accountability, and good intent, reaching deserving beneficiaries without any waste. Instead of directly accepting cash donations, contributions are requested to be deposited into a joint account at Axis Bank in the name of TELANGANA POOSALA SANKSHEMA SAMITHI (TPSS).

TPSS accepts donations not only from Poosala community members within India but also from those living abroad, and even from non-Poosala community members.

TPSS offers a range of service programs, including: • Health Support: Providing financial assistance for medical needs, and essential items like medicines, wheelchairs, and oxygen concentrators. They also provide financial assistance for funeral rites in unfortunate cases. A "Health Committee" of seven members examines applications for assistance. • Educational Support: Formulating guidelines for a "TPSS Credit Cooperative Society" and providing financial assistance to students for higher education (Civil Services, Groups, Medical, Engineering). • Community Welfare: Honoring individuals who have excelled in various fields (education, employment, business, technology, culture, politics).

As of May 23, 2025, TPSS has provided financial assistance to 223 beneficiaries, disbursing a total of Rs. 15,77,000/-.

Initially established by Sri Panniru Satish Kumar, the website tpss.in is now managed and updated by the daughters of Swargiya Smt. Lakkarajula Girija Subuddhi – Krishna, Kanthi, and Kiranalu.

• Cash: You can claim exemption for cash donations up to Rs. 2,000. • Non-cash methods (Cheque, Demand Draft, Online Transfer): For amounts exceeding Rs. 2,000, it is mandatory to make donations through non-cash methods. • In-kind donations: Donations made in kind (e.g., medicines, cooking supplies) are not eligible for tax exemption under Section 80G.

Donors can claim this exemption when filing their Income Tax Returns (ITR). It is crucial to obtain a proper receipt from TPSS for this purpose. This receipt will contain important details such as the organization's registration number, PAN number, date of donation, and the amount donated.
